Application Requirements 1. Teachers register students at new.mtfest.com 2. $35/registrant. Pay fee online through new.mtfest.com. Click on Billing, then click on the $ next to the event. Pay with Visa or Mastercard. After payment is made, you may print a copy of the invoice for your records. You do not need to mail anything to the Chair. For students who have received Honors, there is no fee to play in the Honors Recital. When you register those Honors students, you do not need to go to Billing on new.mtfest. 3. Non-NVMTA members have to pay the $50 fee (per student per event) plus registration fee. 4. There is no fee to participate in an Honors Recital. Time Limits and Other Guidelines Time limits are determined by age on date of the recital and are strictly observed: 12 and under – 6 minutes 13 and older – 8 minutes RECITAL STARTING TIMES: On each recital date, the first in a series of recitals starts at 1:30 pm with each subsequent recital starting at a time that accommodates the age categories and the length of performances, i.e. 2:30 pm or 2:45 pm, and 3:45 pm. Performers should be receiving the start time of their specific recital from their teachers. Students should plan to arrive 10 minutes before their recital designated time and plan to stay for the whole recital. Repertoire Requirements Any repertoire that fits the time limit is acceptable – students who choose to perform pieces which exceed the time limit will be stopped without bias. Piano soloists must play from memory. Other performers may use a score. Entrant will abide by all copyright laws and has permission to use all music given to judges and accompanists during all events.

Our studio may have three performing representatives in each recital.
We are assigned a recital audition group and may not request a specific recital time. Performers are required to remain for their entire 1 hour performance group IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR HONORS.
Recital Time: between 2:00 and 6:00 p.m., beginning with the 12 and Under group or groups, programming is determined by the number and type of applications and will be announced a week before each recital.

Students should arrive at least 10 minutes before the beginning of the recital, and they must remain for the entire recital. Students who arrive after the welcome announcement may play for comments only; they will not be eligible for honors. All students must provide a score at the recital for the judges. Students do NOT take judging sheets to this event..the judges will be given them by the chairpersons.

In order to be considered for Honors, students must attend the entire recital and play the repertoire listed on their application form. Time limits: Teachers may present up to two students per recital, each playing a maximum of 6 minutes, or one student playing a maximum of 8 minutes.
Eligibility: - Students through the 12th grade. (Note: the December 5 recital is for ages 12 and under.) - Only students with performance experience should be presented. - Anyone selected for Honors in 2021 is ineligible to participate in 2022-2023. Requirements: - Simplified arrangements are not permitted but concert transcriptions are acceptable. - All works must be performed by memory, except for piano duet and chamber music. - Students must bring a score for the judges.
