ANTHONY CHANAKA CLASSICAL FESTIVAL The Anthony Chanaka Classical Festival was created to honor the memory of our longtime WMTA member and treasurer.

Time: This is an all-day event. Participants will be notified of their recital time after the deadline. Location: TBD Application fee: $20 -- per student or ensemble
Postmark deadline: February ALL WMTA RULES APPLY. This is a non-competitive event and is held in recital format. Performers will receive critiques and a certificate of participation.
Eligibility: Open to instrumental and voice students through the 12th grade. Repertoire: Any solo or ensemble music written by a composer of the Classical period (born between 1720 and 1800).
Special Rules: - Students are assigned to a recital group and are required to stay for the entire recital. Pianists may not program simplified arrangements. No method book pieces are allowed. Bowed string, wind and brass instrument arrangements and transcriptions are permitted at the elementary level only. Guitar arrangements and transcriptions are permitted at all levels. - Memorization optional. Students must provide the judges with scores of their pieces. All participants are responsible for complying with U.S. copyright law. For use of copied or downloaded materials, please refer to the WMTA General Rules.
