Lee Studios Biennial Baroque Festival music of J. S. Bach and/or Domenico Scarlatti for all ages with participation trophies of increasing size each year of participation, and ribbons recognizing best performances in each level. Festival Level performers play ONE piece of their choosing.
Results are announced at the conclusion of each level.
Registration for February 17th competition is January 20, 2024
In order to qualify for the February 17th competition your repertoire must be AS FOLLOWS:
Level 2 - Grades 5-8 - time limit 7 minutes
Level 3 - Grades 8-12 - time limit 10 minutes
Pianists receiving ‘best performance’ ribbons may choose to compete in the February 17th competition if their repertoire meets the requirements from the list above. BACH BAROQUE COMPETITION ON FEBRUARY 17TH AT UCP - 8:00AM - 6pm.
BEST PERFORMERS in February 17th will be chosen to perform in the
HONORS RECITAL AT UCP ON FEBRUARY 18TH 1-4PM

In order to qualify for the February 17th competition your repertoire must be AS FOLLOWS:
- Repertoire: Play 2 memorized pieces. Choose the first piece (by J S Bach) from the following list:
- A Little Prelude (BWV 899-900, 902, 924-928, 930-931, 933-941, 943, 999, 902a); 4 minutes total playing time
- A 2-part Invention; 4 minutes total playing time
- A 3-part Invention (Sinfonia); 7 minutes total playing time
- A movement from a French or English Suite or from a Partita; 7 minutes total playing time
- One Prelude and Fugue set (both with the same BWV number) from either volume of WTC; 10 minutes total playing time.
- In categories 1 through 4, the second piece may be by any Baroque composer or by JS Bach, except for pieces from the Anna Magdalena Bach collection.
- In category 5, no additional piece is needed.
Level 2 - Grades 5-8 - time limit 7 minutes
Level 3 - Grades 8-12 - time limit 10 minutes
